BIOGRAPHY
Valeria Salgado is a Chilean visual artist whose career has focused on the exploration of the human figure and its emotional expressions. She entered the School of Fine Arts in Viña del Mar in 2006, where she received a scholarship for academic merit in her second year. However, she opted for motherhood, which led her to pause her formal studies, although she continued her training through workshops on painting techniques. Currently, she attends live modeling sessions, with the aim of perfecting her skills and fueling her creativity.
From 2014 to 2016, Valeria was the creator and director of an exhibition space called Área270, located in Concón, aimed at supporting local artists. During this period and to date, she has carried out artistic commissions for individuals, complementing her work in the field of visual arts.
Her personal life has been oriented towards a model of self-sustainability, training in ecological trades, which has led her to rethink her artistic practice and integrate these concepts into her work.
After seeing her children become more independent, Valeria has decided to return to her professional career as an artist. Her current project reflects her personal experience, addressing the emotions of women in their changing roles, as well as her vision on the importance of sustainability, themes that resonate both nationally and globally.
